Having a Daily Oral Language time is a great way for students to practice punctuation, capitalization, spelling, grammar and editing & revising of writing/language.
Having a Daily Oral Language time is a great way for students to practice punctuation, capitalization, spelling, grammar and editing & revising of writing/language.
My students spent approximately 10 minutes a day on this activity. It was a great daily practice and warm up for writing. I would write 4 sentences on the whiteboard with mistakes throughout, students would correct and record the sentences in a notebook daily. We would check/correct the sentences on the board as a class each day.
Teacher Materials: Whiteboard, colored whiteboard markers, eraser.
Student Materials: Notebook, pencil, and colored pencils.
Kinder - Practice one single sentence a day.
Focus: Capital letters at beginning of sentence, Punctuation at the end of sentence.
Example: dogs run fast = Dogs run fast.
Second Grade - Practice two single sentences a day.

Example: the blak cat sleeps on the soft rug = The black cat sleeps on the soft rug.
Fourth Grade - Practice 4 single sentences or a paragraph a day.
Focus: Capital letters, punctuation, spelling, recognize grammar components.
Example: the blew sky looked butiful inn the brite mourning son = The blue sky looked beautiful in the bright sun.
